The coin “Central mosque” (Almaty city) is the first coin of the “Mosques and cathedrals of Kazakhstan” series, which is called to contribute to understanding of the Kazakhstan culture and to the idea that religion is a world training in mental and moral self-perfection of a person. Central Republic Mosque in the city of Almaty is one of the imposing mosques in CIS. It was constructed in 1999.
Averse: State Emblem of Republic of Kazakhstan; face value of the coin “500 TENGE”; two inscriptions “REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN” in Kazakh and Russian.
Reverse: image of Central Republic Mosque against mountains and buildings of Almaty; name of the coin in Kazakh and Russian “CENTRAL MOSQUE”; trade mark of Kazakhstan Mint, “ALMATY” and “2006” means the location and the year of coinage; “Ag 925 31,1 gr.” means metal, standard of coinage and weight of the coin.
Lateral surface is grooved.
