Averse: the composition, which symbolizes the unity of a man and the universe, bonds of past and present; the fact value of the coin «500 TENGE»; two legends «REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN» in Kazakh and English.

Reverse: image of First Space Satellite of the Earth. The low part depicts the numbers “1957-2007” meaning the year of the launch of First Space Satellite and the year of coinage. There are two inscriptions «FIRST SPACE SATELLITE» in Kazakh and English.

Lateral surface is grooved.
