Presentation of new capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Astana took place in June 1998. Presentation of Astana provoked curiosity of world community, and the fact of movement of capital to Astana is the fact of international importance.

Diameter – 31 mm, thickness – 2 mm, weight – 11,37 gram

Images and inscriptions of observe and back sides of coins are relief.

On the face of the coin (averse), on its upper side the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located and under it there is a two-line inscription “20 TENGE”. From the right and left side of the denomination there is the element of national ornament. On the circumference there is the legend “National Bank of Kazakhstan”.

On the back side of the coin at the central part there is Emblem of Presentation of Astana as a new capital of the republic. Elements of the Emblem surrounding shanyrak make ornamental-decorative representation of a flower. At the bottom side there is an inscription “ASTANA”. There is a circle inscription in Kazakh and Russian languages  “New capital of Kazakhstan”. At the right bottom side the date “1998” indicating the year of coinage.

Side surface (drove) is grooved, it has 10 sectors of corrugation.
