Description

The mistake was made by Kazakhstan Mint when issuing the coin. The coin with error depicts rising right hand at “Monument of Independence” although there is no rising right hand at the real monument.

On December 16, 1991 the State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan was solemnly declared expressing the wish of people. This day is annually celebrated as the Day of Independence of Kazakhstan.

Diameter – 31 mm, thickness – 2 mm, weight – 11,37 gram

Images and inscriptions of observe and back sides of coins are relief.

On the face of the coin (averse), on its upper side the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located and under it there is a two-line inscription “20 TENGE”. From the right and left side of the denomination there is the element of national ornament. On the circumference there is the legend National Bank of Kazakhstan.

On the back side of the coin there is a collage representation: on foreground there is a monument of Independence of Kazakhstan, crowned with sculpture group – warrior on winged ounce, on background there are buildings of the President and House of the Government of the Republic against a background of mountain ridge Zailiyskiy Alatau. At upper side of coin there is a circle inscription “INDEPENDENCE OF KAZAKHSTAN” in Kazakh. Under it on free space there is an inscription ” 5 YEARS” and the date “1996” indicating the year of coinage.

Side surface (drove) is grooved, it has 10 sectors of corrugation.
