Images and inscriptions of observe and back sides of coins are relief.

The lateral surface (drove) is grooved with 10 sectors of corrugation.

On the face of the coin (averse), on its upper side the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located and under it there is a two-line inscription “50 TENGE”. From the right and left side of the denomination there is the element of national ornament. On the circumference there is the legend “National Bank of Kazakhstan” in Kazakh.

The central part of the back side of the coin shows a representation of Khodzha Ahmet Yasawi’s mausoleum. On the right, a date “2000” indicates the year of coinage. In the bottom part, the legend “1500 ANNIVERSARY” is located in two lines. To the left and to the right of it, an element of national ornamental pattern is depicted. At the top, on the circumference legends “TURKESTAN” and “MAUSOLEUM OF AHMET YASAWI” are located in two lines.
