Averse: State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan framed by quintuple turning ornamental eight-point rosette; legend in Kazakh “NATIONAL BANK OF KAZAKHSTAN”; face value of the coin “500 TENGE”; rade mark of Kazakhstan Mint;  “24 gr.” means  the coin weight;  “Ag 925” means metal  and standard of coinage.

Reverse: image of the national flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the fragment of the upside monument of the Independence located at the square of the Republic in Almaty; name of the coin in Kazakh  “10 YEARS”  and “INDEPENDENCE OF KAZAKHSTAN” means 10-years of independence of Kazakhstan;  “2001”means the year of coinage.

Images and legends are relief.

Lateral surface is smooth without corrugation and inscriptions.
